The “Shibuya New Ekiden 2025,” a long-standing relay race in Shibuya Ward, will be held on Sunday, January 19, 2025. As the 75th edition of the Shibuya Citizen Ekiden under the FY 2024 Shibuya Citizen Sports Tournament, this event showcases competitive spirit across various categories. Set along the Yoyogi Park Cycling Course and parts of the Olympic Center grounds, the race gathers residents, workers, and students from Shibuya to foster community connections through sports. Join participants of all generations to compete in this exciting event, bringing joy and energy to Shibuya’s streets. Live streaming will also be available for sports fans worldwide!

– General Women, Over 55, Junior High School Girls: Approximately 1,900m × 4 sections (4 runners)
– Local Sports Association: Relay format with each section around 1,900m
Weather Policy
The event will proceed in light rain but will be canceled in case of snowfall. Updates on the event’s status will be posted on the official website by 4:30 AM on the day of the race.
